About the UBC BizTech Network

The UBC BizTech Network (formal club name: UBC Business Technology Network), founded in 2007, is the official undergraduate club of the Business Technology Management option of the Sauder School of Business at UBC. We are a community consisting of resourceful industry professionals, world-class faculty members, and talented students. Together, we seek to bridge the never-ending opportunities in technology to the ever-changing business world.  We strive to promote active interest and awareness of Business Technology Management and Computer Science from a business perspective.

The UBC BizTech Network aims to achieve member satisfaction and success.

Our goals include:

  • Enriching our members’ UBC experience by equipping students with technical IT skills
  • Engaging our members with Networking opportunities featuring professionals, consultants, and IT experts
  • Keeping our members up to date with our monthly e-Newsletters

What is Business Technology Management (BTM)?

BTM students graduate with management skills and IT skills to pursue careers such as Business Analysts, Consultants, Advisors, and IT Auditors, among many.  Many have considered a double major in Business Technology Management (BTM) in a quest to enhance our specializations with the necessary IT capabilities.

Since all Commerce graduates need 4 (300-400 upper level) credits to graduate, Commerce students have the option to take 5 BTM courses to satisfy this criteria.  Others have considered a Double Major in Business and Computer Science (BUCS) – the best of 2 worlds.

As a part of the UBC BizTech Network, we hope you will reach your goals, maximize your IT working knowledge and learn lifelong lessons from our distinguished speakers and panelists.  Embark on a journey towards success.

So Why Wait?  Be Involved.  Be IT Savvy.  Be a part of BizTech!
No previous IT experience is necessary
