We are pleased to announce a brand new MIS Mentorship Program, designed by the MIS Division in collaboration with the MIS Division Advisory Board (Senior IT executives) and Alumni Committee (Sauder graduates).
This Mentorship Program is for Sauder students registered in either the MIS or BUCS option and to those who intend to complete a second option in MIS.
Benefits
This Mentorship Program will enable you to:
- Network and connect with experienced professionals in your area of study;
- Learn more about potential career options;
- And adjust your course plans around your anticipated career path.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this Mentorship Program, you must:
- Be in 2011/12 in Year 3, 4, or 5 (for Co-Op students) of the Sauder Undergraduate Program;
- Be registered in the MIS or BUCS option or have taken at least two of the MIS option courses beyond COMM 335 prior to applying for the mentorship;
- Be willing to dedicate reasonable time to the mentorship process;
- And have at least one year to go in your program.

Other Initiatives
This new Mentorship Program is one of several initiatives related to IT education at Sauder. In particular, as suggested by the Advisory Board, we are also in the process of changing our option name from MIS to BTM (Business Technology Management) to better reflect the current learning objectives of the program and the emerging role of Information and Communication Technology in Business.
Details of some additional initiatives will be announced in the near future.
