<p>Your team must meet the following criteria in order to compete in the APEX Global Business IT Case Challenge.</p>
<ul>
<li>Participation in APEX 2012 tryouts is in teams of 3 undergraduate students.</li>
<li>The Sauder School of Business may send a team of three 3rd or 4th year students in the BUCS or BCOM program.</li>
<li>Two team members must either be a BUCS or BCOM student who have designated BTM as his/her option.</li>
<li>The third team member must have completed COMM 391, COMM 335, and one other BTM course by April 2012.</li>

<p><strong>Invited Audience:</strong></p>
<p>CIOs, CxOs, Privacy Officers, Senior Management, IT Governance, IT Management, Information Security Management, Risk Management, and IT Assurance professionals.</p>
<p><strong>Overview:</strong></p>
<p>As Cloud Computing evolves and matures it becomes clearer that it bring its own unique set of compliance, legal, trust, and security risks issues. The goal of this presentation is to provide guidance on how to mitigate and manage these new Cloud-related risks. This will help you better understand what questions to ask a Cloud Provider, what the current recommended practices are, and the potential pitfalls to avoid.</p>
<p>In order to gain a better understanding of the inherent risks of Cloud Computing, the presentation will first briefly review what is Cloud Computing and provide a technical overview of an adopted existing Cloud Architecture Framework and associated services in order to get you up to speed with Cloud Computing services and deployment models. The latter part of the presentation will be spent on reviewing and providing cloud-specific governance and risk management recommendations you can incorporate into your existing risk management processes.</p>
<p><strong>Biography:</strong></p>
<p>Mr. Michel Oicle is the Information Security Practice Lead at Long View Systems. Mr. Oicle has over 12 years&#8217; industry experience in the areas of IT Security and Information Security Risk Management. In the past, Mr. Oicle has held a position at a governance level as a Senior Information Security Advisor in the Oil &amp; Gas industry, responsible for performing threat risk assessments for projects, particularly critical infrastructure initiatives providing security recommendations. As part of this role, he also developed policies, standards, and guidelines, and as part of a financial audit program, he was also responsible for managing the implementation of various IT Security controls. Most recently, Michel also held a position as an IT Security Auditor for a destination resorts company developing an audit program and performing technical IT Security audits, providing risk assessments and recommendations, application vulnerability assessments and code review, and providing various IT security operational compliance support and recommendations to the organization. Mr. Oicle also spent a number of years as a management consultant providing both IT and IT Security technical solutions to various industry clients.</p>
<p>Michel is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), completed the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) &#8211; Harmonized Threat Risk Assessment, and was also previously certified as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA).</p>
