CIO: the New Business Leader
The CIO really is the new business leader. More than ever, CIOs are shaping the C-suite agenda as they bring forward to their executive colleagues, a strategic business focus on the opportunities for innovation and increased productivity that technology provides. The Canadian economy depends on proven innovation in business and industry to ensure a solid future for our citizens.
CIO is a now a proven career track to the top echelons of business. Internal and external research points to CIOs becoming CEOs in increasing numbers as technology changes the face of business, and as CIOs gain more business experience.
The CIO Association of Canada (CIOCAN) provides senior IT executives a rare cross-industry forum for collaboration and contribution in a vendor neutral atmosphere. There is no substitute for the CIO peer-to-peer interaction, both live and web-based, that our association affords. We invite senior IT leaders to join us.
CIOCAN is committed to helping put the right talent in place to provide the next generation of IT leadership. Our Vancouver Chapter sponsorship of BizTech is a case in point. We need the talent and dedication of the upcoming generation to keep Canada strong and innovative.
